Roman Colloseum

I’ve been doing some lite research on different aspects of our trip to Athens and Rome and Peru.

The Colosseum is actually a constructed amphitheater. Unlike the Greeks who built their amphitheaters into the ground, the Romans, around 80AD built there amphitheater up from the ground. It is no longer whole. It fell prey to earthquakes and stone robbers (so they could build something else I guess)

Those traveling to Peru in June will see a structure, the Huaca Pucllana, a great pyramid, which was used 100 years after the Colosseum was built . It was used as a ceremonial and administrative center.
